福格

Fu Ge's biographical information remains to be verified, and public records are limited: his nationality, dates of birth and death, and English name are not clearly documented. Thirteen of his works are currently held in the collection, all revolving around Tingyu Congtan, including one combined volume and individual volumes one through four and six through eight. Judging from the extant titles, Fu Ge's writing centers on the notebook miscellany genre, recording observations and reflections in the form of casual jottings; each volume stands on its own while also connecting with the others, displaying the note-style character of traditional biji literature. Works of this kind typically emphasize the accumulation of materials and informal record-keeping, with plain language and attention to detail, suiting both casual reading and reference. Although biographical线索 about Fu Ge himself are scarce, making it difficult to outline his life and associations, the survival of multiple volumes of Tingyu Congtan indicates that the work had a readership and is regarded as a classic, offering reference for the study of this notebook genre.
