Baimiao is an author about whom very limited public information is available. Only one work by this author, Feifeng Family, is currently included in the collection. Judged by its common classification, the book falls under essays and miscellaneous writings, suggesting that its writing leans toward the personal essay, using a relatively free form for narration and reflection rather than adhering strictly to fiction or academic writing. Because details of the author's life, nationality, and dates of birth and death are not clearly recorded, the full scope of the author's work is difficult to sketch; readers can only approach the style and concerns of the writing through the text of Feifeng Family. On the whole, Baimiao belongs to that category of writers who let the work speak for itself while keeping a low personal profile, and this collection of essays and miscellaneous writings should suit readers who enjoy plain narrative and everyday expression.
