About the author

Wang Daorui, a chief physician and professor, has long been engaged in academic research on traditional Chinese medicine and has served as a member of the editorial board of the China Yearbook of Traditional Chinese Medicine since 1984. Public information is limited, and his birth and death years, native place, and specific academic lineage are not clearly recorded; the available information mainly concerns his academic work and writings. He has edited or authored works such as A Comprehensive Guide to Paired Herbs in TCM Clinical Practice, The Complete Medical Works of Shi Jinmo, and An Outline of Chinese Medical Books, and is also the author of Selected Annotations of Medical Case Records by Famous Local Physicians of the Ming and Qing Dynasties. Judging from the subject matter, his writing combines clinical practicality with textual organization: on the one hand, he systematically sorts out experience in pairing herbs for clinical reference; on the other, he organizes the academic achievements of modern physicians and local medical case records from the Ming and Qing dynasties, paying attention to the compilation and interpretation of primary sources. This orientation, combining clinical practice with medical history and literature, gives his works a certain reference value for TCM practitioners and researchers.
