王逢振

Public information about Wang Fengzhen is limited: his dates of birth and death, nationality, and educational background are unknown. The works held in the library show, however, that his main focus is the translation and study of foreign literature, especially the Irish writer James Joyce. He has translated Joyce's major works, including Ulysses and Dubliners, and compiled A Collection of Joyce Criticism: Masters on Joyce, offering Chinese readers both translations and critical references for understanding this difficult modernist classic. His catalogue also includes the Earth trilogy and Earth, which involve social fiction, essays, and miscellaneous writings, and are classified under literary appreciation. Judging from this range of subjects, his editorial and translation work combines classic texts with critical introductions, providing complete translations for general readers alongside critical compilations for researchers, and thus serving as a bridge between original works and Chinese-language literary scholarship in the field of foreign literature publishing.
