王皖强

Public information about Wang Wanqiang is limited, and what can be known comes mainly from the works he has helped translate and introduce. Seven titles appear under his name, most of them Chinese translations of classics in world history and intellectual history. They include the seventh edition of A Global History: From Prehistory to the 21st Century in two volumes and as a single set; the three-volume The Enlightenment: The Rise of Modern Pagan Humanism, together with its second volume and a documentary volume; and the two-volume A Study of History. These works cover global history, Enlightenment studies and historiography, and are commonly classified under world history and Eastern philosophy. His choices suggest a focus on bringing major foreign historical works to Chinese readers, with translations that balance scholarly accuracy and readability and that have had some influence in related fields.
