Wang Shan

Wang Shan was born in Wuxi, Jiangsu, in 1944. She is a professor and doctoral supervisor at Renmin University of China and formerly served as dean of the School of Information and as chair of the Database Special Committee of the China Computer Federation. With Sa Shixuan, she co-authored Database System Concepts, China's first database textbook, and led the development of the domestic database KingbaseES. In 2022 she received the CCF Highest Science and Technology Award and is a renowned database expert in China.
