About the author

Wang Xi is the author of the classical Chinese medical text Yilin Leizheng Jiyao (A Classified Compendium of Medical Evidence). Public sources offer limited information about his life, including his birthplace, dates of birth and death, and medical lineage, all of which remain to be verified. The library currently holds three works by him—the upper, middle, and lower volumes of Yilin Leizheng Jiyao—all classified under medicine. Judging from the title and its division into volumes, the book belongs to the clinical literature of traditional Chinese medicine, gathering various medical patterns and evidence in a classified manner for easy reference in practice. It reflects an editorial approach that values practicality and clear organization. The three volumes form a coherent and relatively complete work, suitable as basic material for the collation of TCM texts and clinical research. In the absence of biographical detail, readers can chiefly understand the author's medical focus and organizing approach through this work; further textual research on editions and date of composition would help assess its place and influence in TCM literature more accurately.
