Wang Meng

Wang Meng, born in Shenyang, Liaoning, in 1979, graduated from Lu Xun Academy of Fine Arts and writes under the pen name "Taishan." He is the founder of the Chinese Taishan hand-drawn POP brand and the Taishan Hand-drawn POP Studio, and has long worked in hand-drawn POP design and teaching. Since 2005 he has published more than seventy hand-drawn POP textbooks, some of which have been adopted by schools as teaching materials for art and design programs. Eleven of his works are included in the library, covering a remarkably wide range of subjects: world history and social and cultural studies such as A History of Sudan and Research on Foreign NGOs' Participation in International Aid; history books and biographies such as The Reign of Zhenguan: Li Shimin's Pinnacle Moment, The An Lushan Rebellion, Emperor Gaozong Zhao Gou of Song, Emperor Huizong Zhao Ji of Song, and Yue Fei, Who Died of a "Fabricated Charge"; as well as art books on hand-drawn POP lettering design and works of otherworldly continental fiction. His writing combines scholarly organization with accessibility for general readers, and his historical works emphasize the presentation of figures and the broader context of their times.
