Wang Bo

Wang Bo was born in January 1967 in Chifeng, Inner Mongolia. He is a professor and doctoral supervisor in the Department of Philosophy at Peking University, a Distinguished Professor of the Changjiang Scholars Program of the Ministry of Education, and a former vice president of Peking University. His research focuses on the history of Chinese philosophy, Daoist philosophy and early classical studies, with particular depth in Zhuangzi's philosophy. His works include Zhuangzi Philosophy, The Historiographer Features of Laozi's Thought, General Commentary on the Yizhuan and History of Chinese Confucianism: Pre-Qin Volume. His writing combines close reading of texts with conceptual analysis in a clear style, often opening a dialogue between the classics and contemporary life. He also edits the journal Philosophical Gate and speaks to young readers about reading the classics and thinking about life.
