Wang Liming

Wang Liming, born in February 1960 in Xiantao, Hubei, is a first-class professor and doctoral supervisor at the Renmin University of China Law School and a former executive vice president of the university. He also serves as vice president of the China Law Society and president of its Civil Law Research Institute. His research focuses on general civil law, property law, contract law, personality rights law, and tort liability law, and he has been deeply involved in drafting and compiling laws such as the Contract Law, the Property Law, the Tort Liability Law, and the Civil Code. His writings combine scholarly depth with practical concern, examining doctrinal issues in the General Provisions and the implementation of the Civil Code while also addressing the relationship between the rule of law, good law, and good governance for a general readership. He holds that law should serve the people's wellbeing and regards the rule of law as a way of life.
