Haishen Tonghua is an author whose identity details have not been made public, and available information is limited. The records show only two works under this name: A Brief History of Ocean Cities and Doctor Flame Dragon. Judging by their categories, the author's writing spans two fields, social science and science fiction. A Brief History of Ocean Cities leans toward social science, focusing on the historical relationship between oceans and cities, while Doctor Flame Dragon belongs to science fiction and unfolds an imaginative narrative. The clear difference in subject matter suggests that the author does not confine themselves to a single genre but tries both informative writing and fictional storytelling. As dates of birth and death, nationality, and an English name are all unrecorded, the author's creative background cannot be further described at present; readers may instead turn to the two works themselves to appreciate their choice of material and narrative characteristics.
