Haisheng sunyu is an author about whom little public information is available; their nationality, dates of birth and death, and educational background cannot be confirmed, and only two works by this author are held in the library. Judging from the available works, the author works mainly in two genres: otherworld-continent fiction and social fiction, represented respectively by Jiangdong Yuhuo and Jiandai (Usurping the Sun). Otherworld-continent fiction generally requires a fully constructed world and network of characters, while social fiction stays closer to observation of real life and portrayal of human nature; moving between these two modes suggests an interest in both imaginative and realistic storytelling. In the absence of interviews or author statements, it is difficult to summarize the author's style, narrative preferences, and writing career accurately; only the titles and categories hint at a certain historical feel and dramatic tension. Readers who wish to know this author may begin with these two works.
