Helen Keller

Helen Keller (1880–1968) was an American writer and social activist. She lost her sight and hearing to illness at the age of 19 months, learned to communicate under the guidance of Anne Sullivan, and in 1904 became the first deaf-blind person to graduate from university. She devoted her life to advocating for the rights of people with disabilities and conveyed courage and hope through her writing. Her best-known work, Three Days to See, imagines with delicate prose a brief return to sight and expresses a deep appreciation for life and the sensory world, while her autobiography, The Story of My Life, recounts her journey from darkness and silence toward knowledge and independence. This Chinese book site carries 32 of her works, spanning inspirational growth, foreign literature and biography, in bilingual, annotated and commemorative editions that continue to encourage readers to face hardship.
