Wang Lin is an author about whom limited public information is available; only one work by this author is currently held in the collection, a biographical book titled Wang Jie. Based on the available information, Wang Lin's writing centers on the general category of biography, with the narration of a person's life as its core, following a documentary approach. The title Wang Jie points to a specific figure of that name, around whom the author builds an account of experiences and character. Since the author's nationality, dates of birth and death, educational background, and writing career are not reliably documented, this introduction makes no speculation about the author's life. In terms of the existing work, Wang Lin's writing shows an attention to real people as subject matter, with language and structure serving the documentary requirements of the biographical genre. Although the output is small, the work offers readers a useful reference for learning about the figure concerned and constitutes the basic profile of Wang Lin in Chinese bibliographic records at present.
