Jiang Hong

Jiang Hong was born in November 1984 in Yantai, Shandong. He holds a master's degree in archaeology and museology and works at the Yantai Museum. A writer on paleontology and military popular science, he is known on Weibo as "Jiang's Little Raptor" and has published nine books. His work falls roughly into two categories. One focuses on the history of naval vessels, including the two-volume A Complete History of American Destroyers, 1899–1940 and 1941–1958, the series A Complete History of British Battleships, and A Complete History of British Battlecruisers; these books trace technological development and wartime records by country and ship type. The other category introduces paleontology and the history of life on Earth to general readers, as in Ice Age: A Complete Guide to Prehistoric Animals (2nd Edition) and Earth, the Home of Life. He has also translated Dinosaur Art and writes regularly for popular science magazines such as Bowu. His books combine careful documentation with readability for general audiences, giving them a presence in both military history and popular science reading.
