武引筱

Wu Yinxiao is a Chinese illustrator whose publicly available biographical information is limited; she is known to readers mainly through her participation in the new illustrated edition of Folklores of West Lake. In 2023, she worked alongside Ye Luying and Chen Shikang to create illustrations for the new edition published by Zhejiang Literature and Art Publishing House, including the Chinese hardcover collector's edition and the Chinese-English bilingual edition in two volumes; other versions such as Folklores of West Lake also carry her work. This collection of folk tales, which has sold well for more than forty years, gains a fresh, childlike charm through the brushes of a new generation of illustrators, whose images echo the legends of West Lake, sustaining the cultural grounding of a classic while bringing a clear visual vitality to traditional material.
