Huan Yan

Huan Yan is a contemporary Chinese writer of romance fiction, also known by the English name Huan Yan. Public information about her dates of birth and death and her personal background is limited. Four of her works are currently on record: The Ideal Husband (Part One), The Ideal Husband (Part Two), The complete two-volume edition of The Ideal Husband, and My Goddess Is a Drama Queen. She works mainly in the fields of time-travel alternate-world fiction and modern romance. Her style is light and lively, and she is skilled at adding fantastical touches to historical settings while creating a brisk, humorous narrative atmosphere in modern romance. The Ideal Husband, her representative work, follows Su Shu, a young woman from an ordinary neighborhood, and Tang Qingxiao, the young leader of a demonic sect, in a love story that transcends life and death; the plot is ingeniously conceived and full of twists and turns.
