About the author

Chu Li is dean, professor and doctoral supervisor at the School of Pharmacy, Hebei University of Chinese Medicine, and serves as vice chairman of the Hebei Pharmacological Society. He has long taught Chinese materia medica to undergraduates and has led two projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, accumulating years of experience in teaching and research in the field. His writing spans both professional textbooks and popular science: he contributed to the national higher education textbook for the 13th Five-Year Plan, Experimental Guide for Chinese Materia Medica, and co-edited, with Zhang Jihong and Liu Yu, the popular science series Learn Chinese Materia Medica with Me, published by China Press of Traditional Chinese Medicine in 2022. The two-volume series introduces the origins and properties of Chinese materia medica in its first volume and explains common medicinal substances in the second. His related work Experimental Guide for Chinese Materia Medica is also held in the collection. Public information about his personal life is limited, so this profile focuses on his teaching background and the subjects of his works.
