About the author

Tang Li: publicly available information is limited, and no clear record of this author's identity or life has been found. Three works are currently known. Among them, Ancient Chinese Myths (Grade Four, Volume One) and Chinese Folk Tales (Grade Five, Volume One) are aimed at primary school readers and serve as reading materials related to examinations and classic works; their content is drawn from traditional myths and folk legends, and the language is adapted to children's level of understanding, showing a clear educational and popularizing intent. The other work, When the Wind Stops, Regret Lingers: Sorrows Hidden in Classical Chinese Poetry, turns to classical poetry, using "regret" as a thread to connect classical poems, with a style leaning toward lyrical interpretation. This marks a shift in subject matter from the earlier folk-literature readers. Judging from the common categories, Tang Li's writing spans examination materials, folk literature, and classic works, overall showing a popularizing orientation toward general readers and the classroom.
