林平

Lin Ping, born in 1956, is a Chinese automotive instructor and senior lecturer, as well as a member of the China Society of Automotive Engineers and the Science Writers Association. Since 1987 he has written and published more than fifty automotive books, mainly on car culture but also covering practical topics such as car logos and license plates, and he has received a third prize in the "Five One Project" book awards. His works span popular science, industrial technology, and fashion; the library holds nine of his titles, ranging from reference albums such as the comprehensive guide to car logos to social novels like There Is a Tree in the Mountain and Doushan River, showing a range from technical popularization to literary narrative. He has served as a special guest on CCTV's Automotive Century and as a contributing writer for the Beijing Auto Museum, and has been named a provincial outstanding science writer, building a bridge between automotive knowledge and general reading.
