About the author

Yang Xin, about whom limited public information is available, has been involved in writing and annotation across fields including folk literature, Eastern philosophy, and Chinese medicine. Three works are held in the collection. In folk literature, Yang contributed to Chinese Wisdom Stories: Classic Chinese Tales, presenting traditional Chinese wisdom in story form. In Eastern philosophy, Yang produced a translation and annotation of Wang Xinzhai's Family Instructions, organizing and explaining the family-instruction text of Wang Gen (known as Xinzhai) to help readers understand this intellectual document. In medicine, Yang took part in compiling the Collected Classic Works of the Modern Shanghai-Style Chinese Medicine Master Wang Yiren: Volume on the Elucidation of Chinese Medical Classics (Part Two), an assembly and presentation of writings that expound on Chinese medical classics. The works span a wide range of subjects and combine popularization with documentary organization: conveying traditional culture through accessible narrative while preserving and interpreting specialized texts through translation, annotation, and compilation.
