杨海燕

Yang Haiyan is an author about whom limited public information is available; her writing and editorial work span science popularization, medicine, and the humanities. Seven of her works are included in the collection. These range from the popular science book The Marvelous Science of Hydrogen, which introduces hydrogen-related knowledge in an accessible way, to 66 Questions on the Diagnosis and Treatment of Lymphoma, a question-and-answer medical reader intended for patients and clinicians. A Collection of Ancient and Modern Clinical Experience in Treating Brain Diseases with Insect Medicines reflects her effort to organize and pass on traditional Chinese medical experience. In the humanities, A Reading of Central Plains Proverbs and Sayings and A Record of Scenery and Customs in Luanchuan Tourism focus on local culture and scenery, while the essayistic To You Far Away and Years Retaining Their Fragrance convey personal feelings and reflections on life. These works show that the author is skilled at explaining specialized knowledge in plain, clear language while also attending to regional cultural records and emotional expression, with a diverse yet practical range of subjects.
