Yang Zao is a Chinese writer about whom limited public information is available; details such as nationality and dates of birth and death remain unclear. Judging from the nine works collected here, his writing interests span several fields. These include biographical work on modern writers such as 1,000 Things About Wang Zengqi, literary studies and appreciation such as Fiction and Modern China and The Rebirth of Literature in the Media Age, and contributions to the Manyou culture series, including The Flavors of the World and Wine, People, and Wine Matters.
