About the author

Yang Zonghong is an author about whom limited public information is available. Her extant work, three titles in total, centers on Ming and Qing vernacular fiction. Representative works include Preaching with Purpose: Ethical Narrative in Late Qing Preaching Fiction, which examines ethical expression in late Qing preaching fiction; A Study of Literary Geography in Ming and Qing Vernacular Short Stories, which analyzes narrative and regional culture from the perspective of geographical space; and A Study of Late Ming and Early Qing Huaben Fiction from the Perspective of Neo-Confucianism, which discusses the ideas and writing of huaben fiction within the intellectual context of Neo-Confucianism. These works show a consistent interest in the relationship between fictional texts and ethics, geography, and intellectual history, with a focus on Ming and Qing vernacular fiction, close reading of sources, and interdisciplinary interpretation.
