杜娟

Du Juan is an author about whom limited public information is available; her writing and research interests can nonetheless be glimpsed through the twelve works held in the collection. Her output spans several fields. The documentary work Eyewitness: A War Photographer's Account in Korea focuses on the experiences of a photographer in the field, while in medicine she contributed to General Practice Research Methods (3rd Edition) and The Essence of Fifty Years of Clinical Practice in Breast Diseases. In the natural sciences she produced An Illustrated Guide to Common Plants of Mount Xiaowutai. She has also worked in cultural popularization and academic research, the former represented by Stories of the Qin, Chess, Calligraphy and Painting from the Chinese Classics series, and the latter by The Mask of Morality and the Construction of Ethics, a study of Henry Fielding's novels, and Research on the Interaction between Ding Ling's Roles as Writer and Editor, as well as The Social Effects of Public Policy Performance, a case study of poverty alleviation. Taken together, her works combine documentary writing, medicine, agriculture and forestry, and literary studies, reflecting an interdisciplinary outlook.
