About the author

Li Long (1937–2020), a native of Qiyang, Hunan, was a senior professor of humanities and social sciences at Wuhan University and a renowned Marxist jurist and legal educator. He served as vice dean of the Law School of Wuhan University and dean of the Law School of Zhejiang University, and devoted himself over many years to research in jurisprudence and constitutional law, publishing more than 40 monographs and textbooks. Five of his works are included here, spanning medicine, social sciences, politics, and management: specialized medical titles such as Operative Surgery for Congenital Megacolon via Laparoscopy and Pediatric Hepatobiliary Surgery (2nd Edition), alongside works on The Metaphor of Order in Classical Masterpieces, Crisis Communication and Social Governance, and A Study of Japanese Patent Law. Because public information is limited, details of his life cannot be fully recounted, yet these works reveal the breadth of his interests and a style that balances professional rigor with readability.
