Li Chao

Li Chao is a Chinese author who graduated from Huazhong University of Science and Technology with a degree in international trade. He has worked as an editor, reporter and lecturer at the Guangzhou Academy of Social Sciences and the Guangdong Teachers' Continuing Education Society, and has long been engaged in writing books for children and on traditional culture, including The Imprint of History, The Wonders of Nature and An Encyclopedia of Chinese Myths. The sixteen works held in the library show a far broader range, covering world history, politics, law, medicine, programming and education—from a translated volume of The History of the English-Speaking Peoples to a study of mid-Southern Song politics, compilations of court views on financial leasing and housing sale cases, and a Java programming tutorial. As his birth and death dates are unknown and public information is limited, a full biography cannot be drawn; the breadth of subjects nonetheless reflects a writer who combines popular and specialist writing with an emphasis on practical use.
