About the author

Li Wei'an, born in 1957 in Qingdao, Shandong, holds doctorates in management and in economics. He is a Chair Professor at Nankai University and Director of the China Academy of Corporate Governance. His long-standing research focuses on corporate governance and green governance, and he led the development of the China Listed Companies Governance Index (the Nankai Governance Index). He has also served as President of Dongbei University of Finance and Economics and of Tianjin University of Finance and Economics, and as Dean of the Business School at Nankai University. His writings span both management thought and governance practice: he distills the essentials of Peter Drucker's management thinking, examines CEO corporate governance, analyzes the development of corporate governance in China, and extends his inquiry from corporate governance to national governance. Five of his works are included here, commonly classified under management, exam preparation, and social sciences, combining theoretical overview with empirically grounded report-style writing for readers interested in governance and for exam candidates.
