李家真

Li Jiazhen is a Chinese author and translator active in publishing, though publicly available information about him is limited and no systematic account of his life has appeared. Judging from the seventeen works held in the collection, his work centers on translating foreign literature and thought, spanning detective fiction, essays, nature writing, and the novel. His representative works include the illustrated collector's edition of the Complete Sherlock Holmes and individual volumes such as The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes and A Study in Scarlet and The Sign of the Four, as well as Bacon's Complete Essays, Walden, The Maine Woods, The Picture of Dorian Gray, and On Man. These titles range across mystery and deduction, foreign literature, world classics, and social culture, showing sustained effort in rendering classic texts into Chinese. His translations balance readability with fidelity to the tone of the originals, bringing authors such as Conan Doyle, Thoreau, Bacon, and Wilde closer to Chinese readers.
