About the author

Li Yuan, originally named Zhai Wenming, was born in Shangcai, Henan, in April 1969. After graduating from university, he taught history and, from 1998 onward, devoted himself to writing for a general readership on Chinese history and culture. Public information about his early education and writing career is limited; what can be confirmed is his long-standing focus on making knowledge accessible to ordinary readers, having compiled and authored dozens of popular books. Four of his works are included here, covering social mentality research, research on the rules for infrastructure investment and financing cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative, and the inspirational titles Things You Won't Do Now You'll Never Do in Your Life and A Compendium of the World's Top Thinking, spanning social science, finance and economics, and inspirational growth. His writing emphasizes turning specialized knowledge into readable, accessible expression, with a broad range of subjects that serves both academic popularization and general reading.
