Li Ling

Li Ling (1913–2003) was a native of Taishan, Guangdong, and a music critic, music educator and music activist. In 1938 he went to study at the Lu Xun Academy of Arts in Yan'an, founded the monthly New Music, and served successively as director of the Central Philharmonic Orchestra and president of the China Conservatory of Music. His works include Collected Essays on New Music, Talks on Music and Words on Music, and he edited song collections such as Classic Songs and A Complete Collection of Chinese and Foreign Folk Songs. The library also holds his works in psychology, medicine, prose, social culture and finance, including Self-Efficacy, Health Biochemistry, By the Ili River, Xinjiang Folk Songs on the Silk Road, Think Tank Industry: Evolution Mechanisms and Development Trends, and Career Development and Employment Guidance for College Students in the Digital Age.
