Yan Qing: publicly available information is limited; to date only three works by this author are held in the collection: Revisiting Tradition: Theory and Practice of Chinese Cultural Communication, Concepts and Forms of Television Arts, and A New Handbook of Entertainment Communication Research. Judging from these works, Yan Qing's writing and editing center mainly on journalism and communication studies while also touching on language and writing and on social culture. On the one hand, the works examine the theoretical construction and practical paths of Chinese cultural communication; on the other, they consider the concepts and forms of television arts and systematically review research on entertainment communication. The works are largely textbook- or research-handbook-like in character, with emphasis on defining concepts and building frameworks, and are suitable for reference by students and researchers in related fields.
