是枝裕和

Hirokazu Kore-eda is an important contemporary Japanese novelist and filmmaker whose work often centers on family, kinship, and the fractures within everyday life. The library holds six of his works, including the collected "Human Trilogy" series as well as individual novels such as Like Father, Like Son, Miracle, and Still Walking, along with a set published as original novels of his films and a collection of warm, lyrical fiction. His subjects frequently focus on the coming together and parting of ordinary families, father-son relationships, and the losses of growing up, written in a restrained and plain style that reveals emotional shifts in small details. These works are often classified as literary fiction, foreign literature, and social novels. Because public information is limited, details of his life are not recorded here; readers can come to know his narrative style and concerns mainly through the works listed above.
