时晨

Shi Chen, born in Shanghai in 1987, is a Chinese mystery writer and a member of the Shanghai Writers Association. He has long adhered to the tradition of classical honkaku mystery fiction, emphasizing puzzle design and logical deduction; his works often revolve around closed spaces, bizarre incidents, and layer upon layer of reversal, while also showing a socially engaged attentiveness to reality. Nine of his works are held in the collection, including The Obsidian Mansion Incident, The Mirror Prison Island Incident, The Five Elements Tower Incident, The Puppet Village Incident, The Insect God Mountain Incident, All Stubborn People, Water Margin Hunter III, and The Legacy of the Phantom Thief, spanning suspense and mystery, social fiction, essays and miscellaneous writings, and classic works. His books have been translated into Russian and Vietnamese, giving him a measure of influence among overseas Chinese-language mystery readers. In 2021 he founded the detective-fiction-themed bookstore "Lone Island Bookstore" in Shanghai, later upgraded to "Miyun Hall," providing a dedicated space for the reading and discussion of mystery literature.
