Shi Dingrou is an author in the field of contemporary Chinese romance and youth literature whose works have drawn considerable attention for screen adaptation, with six titles held in the collection. Her representative novel Lichuan Wangshi (Once Upon a Time in Lichuan), written in a delicate and restrained style, portrays a love and parting that cross different circumstances, and a tenth-anniversary edition has continued to attract readers. The Rainbow's Gravity and The Favor You Gave Me have both been adapted into television dramas of the same titles, and Joy of Life: Encountering a Stranger from the Jie Ai series has also been brought to the screen, bringing her stories to a wider audience. Her writing tends to focus on the emotional entanglements and growth choices of urban men and women, skillfully unfolding twists of fate within tender narration, balancing character relationships and emotional tension while combining the readability of romance with the fresh tone of youth literature. Because public information is limited, details of her personal life remain incomplete, and this introduction is based mainly on her works' themes, style, and influence through film and television adaptation.
