About the author

Fang Lianqing, about whom limited public information is available, appears from the works held in the collection to be an author long engaged in the teaching and study of the history of international relations. His works include the two-volume History of International Relations (Modern Volume), History of International Relations (Contemporary Volume), and History of International Relations (Postwar Volume, Part One), the last listed among the national key textbooks of the Ninth Five-Year Plan for general higher education. Covering the modern, contemporary, and postwar periods, these books form a fairly complete general-history sequence. They serve as both textbooks and academic reading: the narrative follows chronology, with major events and relations between states as its framework, emphasizing the ordering of historical facts and the summing-up of period characteristics. The language is plain and the structure clear, making the works suitable for university courses and examination preparation, while also offering general readers a systematic reference for understanding the evolution of international relations.
