About the author

Dai Bo's works span several markedly different fields of writing, yet little about the author is publicly available: birth and death years, nationality, and educational background are all unrecorded. Four titles are held in the collection, ranging from history reading and otherworld fantasy to exam preparation. Among them, You Wei: The Fifty-Four Years of Emperor Wu of Han and The Mandate Returns to Han both belong to history writing; the former focuses on the policies and personnel of Emperor Wu's fifty-four-year reign, while the latter likewise draws on Han dynasty history, showing the author's sustained interest in Han politics and figures and a narrative style that emphasizes the ordering and presentation of historical facts. The other two, Data Structures and Algorithms and C and C++ Programming, are computer science textbooks for exams and teaching, written with greater emphasis on explaining concepts and systematizing knowledge. One pair is historical narrative, the other technical tutorial; the subjects are far apart, yet both reflect the author's clear organization and attention to structure. Given the limited public information, details of the author's life and the full scope of the writing remain difficult to describe in depth; readers may come to know these different facets through the individual works.
