忽培元

Hu Peiyuan is an author about whom limited public information is available. Two works can be confirmed: The First Secretary of the Village and In the Same Boat, both commonly classified as social novels. Judging from these two books, his writing attends to real social issues and presents grassroots life and the fate of characters through narrative, with themes close to contemporary Chinese social experience. The First Secretary of the Village, as the title suggests, relates to rural governance and grassroots work, while In the Same Boat continues his focus on social relations. Because his dates of birth and death, nationality, education, official positions and awards are not clearly recorded, details of his life cannot be set out. Overall, Hu Peiyuan writes mainly social fiction; his output is small, but his thematic direction is clear, and his work is suitable for readers interested in realistic themes and grassroots narratives.
