About the author

Zhang Hai, born in September 1941 in Yanshi, Henan Province, is a contemporary Chinese calligrapher. He served as the fifth and sixth chairman of the China Calligraphers Association and is currently honorary chairman of the association and dean of the School of Calligraphy at Zhengzhou University. He is skilled in all four major scripts, particularly clerical script and running-cursive script, and created his own cursive clerical style. He has published more than thirty works on calligraphy and received the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles' Lifetime Achievement Calligrapher title in 2018. It should be noted that this site holds four of his works, covering medicine, examinations, and management—titles on breast fusion imaging, GIS and spatial analysis in archaeology, financial statement formats and preparation, and the design and production of micro-courses. These differ considerably from his main work in calligraphy, and public information on their background is limited; readers may consult the individual titles to judge their editorial features and practical value.
