Public information about Zhang Zehong is limited, and the only confirmed fact is that the author has written one work, The Unofficial Story of the Street Peddler (Xingdan Waizhuan). The book is classified as a social novel, suggesting that the author's writing tends toward realistic subjects and social life rather than purely imaginative or entertainment-oriented fiction. The word "xingdan" in the title hints at itinerant peddling and carrying pole trade, implying a local flavor and a marketplace setting; "waizhuan," meaning an unofficial or supplementary account, suggests a narrative devoted to anecdotes or legends about particular figures or experiences. Since this is the only work in the database and basic biographical details such as nationality and dates are unknown, no fuller assessment of the author's career or overall style is possible. Readers are advised to rely on The Unofficial Story of the Street Peddler itself to appreciate its texture of everyday life and characterization.
