张柏然

Zhang Bairan is an author in the Chinese book database known for translating foreign literature. The database lists five of his works, all in the category of foreign literature. His representative translations include Of Human Bondage and the three-volume Somerset Maugham trilogy, as well as an illustrated boxed set of Of Human Bondage under the Maugham collected works and separate illustrated upper and lower volumes. Judging from these titles, Zhang Bairan's work centers mainly on Maugham's novels, bringing Of Human Bondage—a lengthy, partly autobiographical novel about growth and life choices—to Chinese readers. Public information about his life, nationality, and education is limited, and the database contains no existing profile, so no speculation is offered here. What can be confirmed is that his translations focus on Maugham's works and appear in formats such as boxed sets and illustrated editions, which make systematic reading and collection easier for readers.
