Zhang Jing

Zhang Jing, born in 1955 in Siping, Jilin Province, is of Manchu ethnicity and holds a doctorate in literature. He is a senior professor of humanities at the Communication University of China, dean of its School of Humanities, and a doctoral supervisor, as well as president of the Chinese Society for Liao-Jin Literature. His long-term research covers ancient Chinese literary theory, aesthetics, and the literature of the Liao, Jin, and Yuan dynasties; he has published more than twenty books, including A History of Liao-Jin Poetry, Zen and Tang-Song Poetics, and The Extension of Aesthetics, along with over six hundred articles. The fifteen works listed here reveal interests spanning many fields: world history such as The Nazi Seizure of Power, Gallipoli, and The Meiji Restoration; medical practice, including a clinical handbook on metabolic dysfunction-associated fatty liver disease and a volume on building and standardizing interventional ultrasound; and aesthetic culture, applied psychology, and inspirational writing, such as New Perspectives on Contemporary Aesthetic Culture and the “Treasure Grandma” series. This interdisciplinary range gives his editorial work both scholarly rigor and accessibility for general readers.
