About the author

Zhang Zhao'an is an author whose works span the fields of finance and economics, politics, and language and writing. Public information about him is limited, and his dates of birth and death, nationality, and educational background are not clearly recorded. Four of his works are held in the collection, covering a fairly wide range of subjects, which shows his sustained attention to real-world issues. Among them, Panoramic China: Sixteen Lessons in Economic Literacy explains basic economic knowledge in a classroom-style structure for general readers who wish to understand how China's economy works; Thinking and Acting: My Fifteen Years as a Deputy to the National People's Congress draws on his experience in public service to present observations and reflections on public affairs; Observation and Reflection: 100 Economic Miscellanies, 2011–2015 records his analysis of economic phenomena in short essay form; and Research and Exploration in Western Television Technology turns to technical research, showing that his interests are not confined to a single field. Overall, his writing seeks to turn specialized knowledge into accessible prose in a plain style, and is suitable for readers concerned with economic and social issues.
