About the author

Zhang Naigen: publicly available information is limited. Two works appear under this name, De Jure Praedae (On the Law of Prize) and International Law and International Order: Collected Essays on International Law by Zhang Naigen (2 volumes), falling into the categories of finance and law, with international law as the central concern. The former is a translation or edition devoted to a classic topic of international law, dealing with traditional issues such as prize at sea and maritime rights in wartime; the latter gathers in essay form his sustained reflections on the relationship between the rules of international law and international order. One translation and one original collection, the two books show that the author both values the introduction of classic foreign texts and seeks to examine real-world order through the lens of international law. The writing leans toward doctrinal and institutional analysis and is suitable for readers interested in international law and international relations.
