Alfred Hitchcock

Alfred Hitchcock (1899–1980) was a British film director and producer, born in London; he became a US citizen in 1956 while retaining British nationality. He is known for suspense and thriller films such as Psycho, Rear Window and North by Northwest, and is hailed as the "Master of Suspense" and one of the most influential directors in film history. His work emphasizes the building of suspense and psychological tension, often creating unease and reversals within everyday settings. This style also extends to the suspense stories published under his name. The library holds nine related titles, including Alfred Hitchcock's Suspense Stories, The Third Party, Countdown, Crime and Crime, The Chain of Suspense, The Man Behind the Curtain, Stranger in the Mist and The Wrongly Accused Good Man, mostly classified under foreign literature, classic works and suspense mystery.
