宋伯仁

Song Boren: public information about his life, birthplace, and dates remains limited and awaits further verification. Judging from the works extant in the collection, he was an author known chiefly for classical poetry. Four of his works are included here: Xicheng Collection and Wangji Collection from Xueyan Poetry Drafts, as well as Xicheng Collection and Selected Poems from Xueyan Collection in Selected Song Poems. These titles indicate that his writing was mainly poetry, with a style inclined toward personal reflection, delight in mountains and rivers, and musings on daily life, bearing the refined air of traditional literati verse. The inclusion of Selected Poems from Xueyan Collection in Selected Song Poems shows that his poems were adopted by a general poetry anthology and enjoyed a certain circulation and influence. Because biographical materials are lacking, his life cannot be described in detail; readers may come to know his thematic interests and writing style mainly through the poetry collections mentioned above.
