An Zi

An Zi, whose real name is Xue Ning, is a native of Henan and a member of the China Writers Association as well as a bestselling post-1970s author. He has worked as an editor and reporter for China Youth magazine and as a reporter for China Central Television, and is now a full-time writer and a guest on the China National Radio program Tasting the Fragrance of Books. Over more than twenty years he has written on inspirational themes, relationships, historical documentary writing and suspense fiction, with forty titles held in the library across history, documentary literature, essays and health. His historical writing draws details from archives and old reportage; representative works include Fragments of Chinese History (1840–1949), A True Record of the Zhongtong Agents, A True Record of the Juntong Agents, Chinese Warlords Behind the Official Histories, Infernal Affairs in the Republic of China and Understanding the Qing Dynasty. He has also written on reading aloud and healthy eating. Public information is limited, and readers chiefly know his writing through these works.
