Sun Zhouxing

Sun Zhouxing, born in Shaoxing, Zhejiang, in 1963, is a Chinese philosopher, the Dunhe Chair Professor at Zhejiang University, and a Humboldt Foundation scholar in Germany; he received his PhD in philosophy from Zhejiang University in 1992. He works mainly on German philosophy, phenomenology, and the philosophy of art, and is especially known for his research on Nietzsche and Heidegger. He is the chief editor of the Heidegger Collected Works and the Complete Works of Nietzsche, and has translated works such as Holzwege and Wegmarken. His 18 titles in the catalog include translations of Nietzsche's The Will to Power (2 volumes), The Gay Science, and Thus Spoke Zarathustra, as well as studies such as Prelude to Future Philosophy: Nietzsche and Post-Metaphysics and Existence and Transcendence: Heidegger and Chinese Philosophy, along with poetry selections and writings on color. His work combines precise translation with philosophical interpretation and has had a lasting influence on introducing German philosophy and advancing Chinese philosophical thought.
