About the author

Jiang Wei was born in March 1957 in Longkou, Shandong. He holds a doctorate in criminal law from Renmin University of China, where he later served as professor and doctoral supervisor. He subsequently held posts as director of the Public Prosecution Department of the Supreme People's Procuratorate, chief procurator of the Heilongjiang Provincial People's Procuratorate, and vice president of the Supreme People's Court. His long-term research focuses on criminal law and criminal procedure law, and his works include On Forms of Culpability and Criminal Intent and Criminal Negligence. Five of his books are collected here, spanning philosophy, law, music, and essays, from contemplative and legal-frontier titles such as How We Think and Introduction to Legal Artificial Intelligence to the practical music textbook Folk Guitar Systematic Course 1 and the peacekeeping memoir Blue Helmet Diary: Days of Peacekeeping in Liberia. His writing combines scholarly depth with readability and reflects a cross-disciplinary intellectual range. Because public information is limited, biographical details are omitted; readers may come to know his thought and style through his works.
