Yao Yubo

Yao Yubo is an associate professor at the School of Art and Design, Huaihua University, whose main research interests are digital imaging and animation. Beyond teaching and research, he has also taken part in creating popular history works. Together with Zou Mei, he co-authored the long-form patriotic comic series The Zhijiang Flying Tigers, which consists of three volumes. Set during the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, the series follows young people from Zhijiang who join the Flying Tigers and fight the enemy with courage, and it is categorized as history reading. Because public information is limited, details of Yao Yubo's personal life and dates of birth and death remain unclear; the three-volume comic is currently the confirmed representative work. Combining local historical memory with comic storytelling, the series conveys a patriotic theme to young readers and was published by Hunan Science and Technology Press in 2023.
